Cabochon history
On 4 may 2004  the famous  keurstallion Cabochon died. After a long, hard fought battle with many complications, the stallion finally succumbed to the illness [Cushings diesease.]

Our thoughts return to 1984 when Cabochon was born here by us. Also to 1987 when he received  his approval from the KWPN, he was described as the stallion with the 'best trot' but most of all for his fantastic character and presence. Cabochon had the power to captivate and mesmerize everybody with his power, expression and movement. Also in the showing ring  the possibilities seemed endless for him, through his fantastic character, was it possible for him to adjust at any moment to any environmental changes and effortlessly show his unbelievable dressage potential .

Among the numerous highlights in Cabochon's career were the presentation at the Zwolse stallion show, receiving the 'Keur' status in Den Bosch from the KWPN, and of course the unforgettable Cabochon -Train. Also his offspring shine not only  in the dressage arena but also in the show ring, winning countless top prizes.

Cabochon's offspring are renowned for there movement, workability and above all, there generous and reliable character.

From the very beginning there has been a small but steadfast group of  breeders who quiet rightly envisaged the quality and potential of cabochon. More is the pity that we have to note the growing group of breeders who  in the last few years seem to have discovered the true legacy of his fantastic dressage genes.

However, to express a point, we, [family Van Norel] even with the passing away of Cabochon, who has been a great and proud servant to us, realize a great loss to the dressage breeding world. Being the greatest ambassador for the Pretendenthoeve we are happy that we have always  believed in his potential  as a sire of top notch dressage horses. We are happy and proud that we have for the last twenty years been able to enjoy Cabochon and all that he brought to our lives.

cabochonWe are glad that we are in possession of  many of his offspring. Luckily, there are also a lot of breeders with Cabochon's offspring. Hopefully, we can for many years together enjoy the fruits of his sucess.

We would like to thank all Cabochon fans from around the world  for all there support.
